I like this logo because it's a good example of 3D done right. It suggests 3D just by the perspective of each shape, without having to use any gaudy Photoshop effects.

I stumbled across this logo on Daivd Airey's blog. I love everything about it -- its cleverness, the simplicity, and the color choice (blue for dielines & brown to perhaps represent cardboard packaging).

I find these logos to be so clever. I love the simplicity & subtly of each one, but I especially love the Mother & Child logo as the "&" seems to resemble a curled up baby in a womb....or maybe even the arms of a mother cradling the word "CHILD" within.

I stumbled across this logo today while doing a Google search, and I found it very appealing. The 3 coffee beans that suggest the "E" is such a clever idea, and very well executed. I just love the overall simplicity of the logo, and I find it very unique compared to most café logos I have seen.

I'm not completely sold on this logo; something about it bothers me. But I can definitely appreciate the idea, and I love the giraffe created in the negative space of the P.

Positive & negative space in a logo

I'm not sure why I never noticed the USA network logo before (maybe because I don't ever watch that channel?) But anyways, I happened to being flipping through channels the other day and noticed the USA logo in the bottom left of the screen. I was quite impressed by the use of negative space to create the "S". I have to admit that it's quite a nice logo for a sub-par network. :)

A single letter as a logomark

This sophisticated logo features a custom font design for the letter "A", which creates a logomark that can stand alone and be easily identifiable without the company name.

The repetition of the leaf in the "A"s is an especially nice touch.

Staying on the wine theme....

This logo has an inviting feel to it, yet still portrays the atmosphere of an elegant dining experience. What I especially like about this design is the placement of the image in the center of the logo. So many logo designers treat the image and the text as 2 separate pieces (I am very guilty of this at times), whereas the logo below incorporates all elements into one cohesive unit.

A new take on wine logos

It's challenging to design a creative logo when dealing with a popular theme where the same visual elements get used over and over....and over again.

For example, with all the vineyards and wine bars that exist today, I feel like I have seen every variation possible of logos using grapes, leaves, wine bottles, wine glasses, and the rings left on tables by glasses.

This logo breaks the mold of the standard wine logo by featuring an abstract, organic-shaped bottle. So simple, yet so powerful -- this logo portrays "high class" wine gallery in a new, innovative way.

I'm not a huge fan of the images used (the brown grapes look very unappetizing to me!), but the overall logo has a great visual balance. The swirling ascender and descender in the capital letters create a nice focal point, and also help tie together all the individual pieces of the logo.

Using negative space...

It's amazing how a strong logo can be created by using just a few simple shapes. The ark is formed by 2 shapes, separated by negative space. The frog is suggested by one simple green shape. And my favorite part -- the negative space in the ark to create the frog's hand.

Gorgeous invitation design ....and customizable colors!

I will start this blog out with one of my favorites --- invitations by Sorbet in Chicago.

The designs are fresh, unique, and feature the yummiest of colors (such as plum, olive, and chocolate). Not only that, but they allow you to customize your colors to match your event's theme.

In fact, my husband and I chose to use the "Cocoon" butterfly design for our wedding invitations last May (except we replaced the Sky blue with Sage green to match our wedding colors).
